Rain is gently drumming on the windows. So glad the rainy season is finally here after a long rainless summer.

Julio Iglesias - La Carretera

La Carretera
The Road

it rains and the road is wet
long is the way, long is the wait
miles are passing while thinking of her
what a night, what a silence, if only she knew
that i'm running
thinking of her

(kilómetros: kilometers. "mile" sounds better in English though )

y yo corriendo
pensando en ella

the lights of passing cars
the noise of speeding trucks
nobody on the street and it's raining
villages by the roadside already fall asleep
and i am still running
thinking of her

(Estribillo)
Sigo en la carretera buscándote
al final del camino te encontraré
aceleré

(chorus)
i'm still on the road looking for you
at the end of the road i'll meet you
speed up

(me comen la cabeza los pensamientos: he is run over by a train? )

the bars are closed at this hour
couples' hotels are always waiting
a train crossing my step is long and slow
those thoughts are eating up my head
thinking of her
thinking of her

(Estribillo)
Sigo en la carretera buscándote
al final del camino te encontraré
aceleré

(chorus)
i'm still on the road looking for you
at the end of it i'll meet you
speed up

thinking, imagining, my doubt rises
leaving at the bend, not realizing
the needle marks 140
(aguja: needle, hand. what does it refer to here? might be the speedometer? so he is speeding and is thrown off the road? 140km=86mi )

(Estribillo)
Sigo en la carretera buscándote
al final del camino te encontraré
aceleré

(chorus)
i'm still on the road looking for you
at the end of it i'll meet you
speed up

Llueve y está mojada la carretera
y yo sintiendo celos pensando en ella
perdido entre la duda y la neblina
me estoy quedando solo sin gasolina

it rains and the road is wet
and i feel jealous thinking of her
lost between doubt and fog
i'm staying here alone without gas

Llueve y está mojada la carretera
y yo sintiendo celos de sus ojeras

it rains and the road is wet
and i feel jealous of the dark circles under your eyes

it rains and the road is wet
i know not if you are with someone else, only if i knew

it rains and the road is wet
silent is the night, long is the wait

(i was haunted by the melody in the very beginning. didn't know it's such a sad song. )

La Paloma /

@ La Paloma composed by Sebastián Iradier

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Paloma

"La Paloma" is a popular song, having been produced and reinterpreted in diverse cultures, settings, arrangements, and recordings over the last 140 years. The song was composed and written by the Spanish composer of the Basq region Sebastián Iradier (later Yradier) after he visited Cuba in 1861. Iradier may have composed "La Paloma" around 1863, just two years before he died in Spain in obscurity, never to learn how popular his song would become.

The influence of the local Cuban habanera gives the song its characteristic and distinctive rhythm. Very quickly "La Paloma" became popular in Mexico, and soon spread around the world. In many places, including Afghanistan, Spain, Hawaii, the Philippines, Germany, Romania, Zanzibar, and Goa it gained the status of a quasi-folk song. Over the years the popularity of "La Paloma" has surged and receded periodically, but never subsided. It may be considered one of the first universal popular hits and has appealed to artists of diverse musical backgrounds.

@ La Paloma Blanca /

When the sun shines on the mountains and the night is on the run,
it's a new day,it's a new way,and I fly up to the sun.
I can feel the morning sunlight.
I can smell the new-morn hay.
I can hear God's voices callingof my golden skylight way.

O la paloma blanca, I'm just a bird in the sky.
O la paloma blanca, over the mountains I fly.
Yes, no one can take my freedom away.

Once I had my share of losing,
once they locked me on a chain.
Yes, they tried to break my power.

Oh I still can feel the pain.
O la paloma blanca,
I'm just a bird in the sky.
O la paloma blanca, over the mountains I fly.
Yes, no one can take my freedom away.

Paloma Blanca, often called Una Paloma Blanca, is the title of a song written by the Dutch musician George Baker and first recorded by his band The George Baker Selection. The single was a hit throughout Europe, and was taken from the group's fifth album of the same name.

The song became a number-one hit on the U.S. Billboard Easy Listening Singles chart in early 1976 (becoming that chart's overall number 1 song for 1976) and peaked at number 26 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100,[1] as well as peaking at number thirty-three on the U.S. Hot Country Singles charts.[2]
The title is Spanish for "white dove"

@ La Paloma /

La paloma

Una canción me recuerda
Aquel ayer
Cuando se marchó en silencio
Un atardecer
Se fue con su canto triste a
Otro lugar
Dejó como compañera
Mi soledad
Una paloma blanca me canta
Al alba
Viejas melancolias, cosas
Del alma
Llegan con el silencio de
La mañana
Y cuando salgo a verla, vuela
A su casa
Donde va que mi voz
Ya no quiere escuchar
Donde va que mi vida
Se apaga
Si junto a mi no esta
Si quisiera volver
Yo la iria a esperar
Cada dia cada madrugada
Para quererla más

The Dove

a song reminds me of yesterday
when she left me quietly
One dusk she went away with her sad song to another place
she was like a companion for solitude
at dawn a white dove sings to me old melancolies, things of soul
they come with silence of morn
when i go to see her, she flies to her nest
where she goes that she now doesn't want to hear my voice
where she goes that she can shut her out of my life
if she is not by my side
if she would like to return
i would go there to wait
each day, each mornig
to love her more

西部Washington and Oregon 雨多。

Ritchie Valens - We Belong Together

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ritchie_Valens

Ritchie Valens (born Richard Steven Valenzuela; May 13, 1941 – February 3, 1959) was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. A rock and roll pioneer and a forefather of the Chicano rock movement, Valens' recording career lasted only eight months.[1] During this time, he had several hits, most notably "La Bamba", which was originally a Mexican folk song. Valens transformed the song into one with a rock rhythm and beat, and it became a hit in 1958,[2][3] making Valens a pioneer of the Spanish-speaking rock and roll movement.

On February 3, 1959, on what has become known as "The Day the Music Died", Valens died in a small-plane crash in Iowa, a tragedy that also claimed the lives of fellow musicians Buddy Holly and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson, as well as pilot Roger Peterson. Valens was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
